It is a great social media asset - vlogging or blogging is ideal to help build your brand awareness
More and more people will be doing it, so you should do it too!
Why should you put vlogs on your social media platforms?
Sharing your vlogs on social media platforms is very beneficial, it provides new opportunities and people from all over the world can find you, 24hrs a day.
Choose platforms relevant to your industry and join communities where you can share your valuable vlogs. Obvious platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest are a great start.
Unfortunately some social media platforms are making it more difficult for us to reach our potential customers. Algorithms change on a regular basis and sometimes we don’t know what changes are happening until way down the line. What we do know is images and video are the future and social networks such as Facebook look favourably upon video posts - especially live video - so get vlogging.
And one more thing...
Why should you vlog?
If you think about it, most people prefer to watch the news rather than read it and it’s good to put a face to your brand - revealing a human side to your business. Be brave, turn on that camera and reveal to the world what you and your business can do for them.
Have a goal and an outline of what you want to achieve
Remember, it doesn't need to be perfect - be real
Do your research. Take a look at other vlogs to get ideas and pick up tips

Making use of a tripod is good if you haven’t got a steady hand
You can use video software to do editing for a more professional presentation
Think about your background, lighting and noise level, do you need a microphone?
Try to get a balance, don’t make the vlog too long or too short
Introduce yourself at the beginning of the vlog, who are you and what are you doing?
Be yourself, show your personality
Use a good thumbnail for the vlog article
Give people a reason to return to your vlogs or some kind of CTA if relevant
Think about scheduling
Create a YouTube channel with a logo and a great banner image
Use links to other relevant sites in your video description on YouTube or whatever platforms you upload your vlog to
Ask for feedback
Like other people’s vlogs and you can always ask to be a guest vlogger or blogger for someone else
When vlogging for the first time, you may feel a bit self-conscious and rigid or do the same thing 20 times and hate watching yourself on video and not want to use any of what you’ve done. That's normal. As they say… practice makes perfect - well, you may never be perfect and who wants to be?
